Think about what makes you unique and then tell the world. Taking a Look in the Mirror I still remember the words as plain as day: You only ever get the staff you deserve. It was on that day when my dad helped me realize everything that goes on in my business is a reflection of either my ability or my inability. It still amazes me to this day how a business is a reflection of its owner. Some owners want to control everything and wonder why none of their team members ever take any initiative. Some hate selling and love paperwork, so they've always got their numbers done, but never really sell too much, and so on. It almost feels like your business is designed to teach you everything you don't know. And, as my dad pointed out, the people you attract in your life are another great mirror of where you are at. It wasn't until I became a great person, a great businessman, and a great leader, that I started to attract great people. And attract great people I did. When you reach this level, it's rarely necessary to go looking for people; they usually come to you. Business Is a Self-Fulfilling Prophecy Remember back to the last time you bought a car. All of a sudden you noticed there were hundreds of them on the road. Or here's another example: Try right now to not picture a pink elephant with wings in your mind. Your brain has an amazing power to create or find whatever you focus on. It's called your Reticular Activating System (RAS), and it's like your personal compass. Your RAS will find proof that the earth is flat if you want it to. In fact, it'll find proof that November is a slow month if you want it to. In other words, attention determines direction. Just like the last time you said to yourself, Don't forget, don't forget, don't forget. And, what happened? You forgot. Change your wording to remember. 6
